What We Collect

When you use Rouse we collect: the display name you enter, a randomly generated account identifier, your group memberships, alarm times, wake/snooze events, emoji reactions, and any wake-proof photos you choose to post.

We do not collect your email address, phone number, contacts, or precise location.

How We Use It

Your data is used solely to run Rouse's features: showing your name and wake status to members of groups you join, posting your snoozes to your groups' feeds, and displaying wake-proof photos to your crew. We do not sell your data. Free accounts see ads to support the app — see Advertising below — and we never share your name, groups, wake history, or photos with our ad partner.

Camera & Wake-Proof Photos

Camera access is used only for wake-proof missions that you start yourself. Photos you post are uploaded to our backend (Supabase) and are visible to members of your groups. Posting a photo is always optional, and your wake-proof photos are deleted when you delete your account.

Notifications

With your permission, we send alarm and group activity notifications — for example, when someone in your group snoozes. You can turn these off in iOS Settings at any time.

Where Your Data Lives

Your data is stored with Supabase, our backend provider, and is protected by row-level security so that only members of your groups can see your group activity.

Payments

Subscription payments are processed entirely by Apple. We never see or store your payment details.

Advertising

Free accounts see ads served by Google AdMob so we can keep Rouse free for everyone. Rouse Pro subscribers never see ads.

We do not request tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency), and we do not share any of your account data — your name, groups, wake history, or photos — with AdMob. Ad requests are marked non-personalized, so ads are not based on your activity in other apps. AdMob may still use a device identifier for basic ad delivery and frequency capping; see how Google uses information from apps that use its services for details.

Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, group memberships, wake history, shame events, reactions, and wake-proof photos are permanently removed. Groups you created that still have other members remain for those members.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your data. Your activity is shared only with members of groups you choose to join, and with the service providers (Supabase, Apple, and — for free accounts — Google AdMob for ads) needed to operate the app.

Children's Privacy

Rouse is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Your Rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time in the app: Settings → Delete Account. You can also email us to request deletion or a copy of your data.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we will show them in the app before they take effect.
